2018 Tier II Age Group Championships - Day 3 Recap

The 2018 Tier II Age Group Championships concluded on Sunday night with another night of fast racing. Events included the 200m FR, 200m BK, 100m BR, 400m IM, 800m FR, and 200m Medley relay.

Peter Huang (HYACK) continued to shatter records. He broke the Boy’s 11-12 provincial record in the 800m FR with a time of 8:52.66, which was over 10 seconds faster than the previous provincial record set back in 2010. Huang also did another provincial record/national record breaking combination, as he also slid under the national record set just last year.

Other highlights from the evening include the Girl’s 16-18 200m FR, Girl’s 14 and under 200m BK, Boy’s 16-18 100m BR, and Boy’s 15 and under 400m IM. The Girl’s 16-18 200m FR had a night race for the second and third medal positions. Anna Dumont-Belanger (SPART) hit the wall in a 2:01.65, a little over two seconds ahead of the rest of the field. In the race for the remaining medal positions, Kyra Forrest (ISC) edged out her ISC teammates for silver in a time of 2:03.96.
