NCCP Competition Coach WORKSHOP #1 Course
Swim Ontario will be hosting Workshop #1 of the Competitive Swimming Course over the TWO weekends:
- April 8-11, 2010 (McMaster U. in Hamilton)
- October 7-10, 2010 (Univ. of Western Ontario in London, ON)

Part 1: April 8-11, 2010 – McMaster University, Hamilton.

Part 2: October 7-10, 2010 – University of Western Ontario, London. (TBC)
Participant Fee - $900 Inclusive – When registering participants can pay the full fee or can choose to pay in two installments. Please see registration page for further details.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: The Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO), through the Quest for Gold Enhanced Coaching Funds, has available funds to coaches who enroll in this workshop. Through the CAO coaches can receive an NCCP Bursary which provides 75% of the course fee back plus mileage reimbursement.

Workshop Pre-Requisites: Participants must have completed Competitive Development Coach Multi-sport modules: Developing Athletic Abilities & Coaching and Leading PRIOR to April 7th, 2010. Coaches can access these multi-sport workshops either by home-study or in-class workshops via www.coachesontario.ca
Pre-Course Assignments: Upon registration, paid participants will be emailed pre-course work to be completed prior to April 7th.
Participants will also be given take home assignments to be completed and applied in home club environments between the April workshop and the October workshop.
Details of Workshop Schedule:
Each workshop will run over four days and include classroom, dry land, and water sessions. It is mandatory for participants to attend all sessions.
- Introduction to Competitive Development Coach
- Developing Swimmer Abilities
- Performance Planning
- Coach Management
A complete schedule for each workshop weekend will be emailed out following registration.

Note these workshops will be integrated into the Swim Ontario Train to Compete Camps (TTC) – participating staff: Dean Boles; Kelly Steeves; and TTC special guests and TTC athletes will also be working with course participants.
Following completion of the April and October workshops, participants will schedule evaluators for home-club and competition evaluation. Details of these evaluations will be emailed out to course participants.
