June 1–7 | Saanich Commonwealth Place, Victoria, BC The 2025 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials, hosted at the Saanich Commonwealth Place in Victoria, BC, brought together Canada’s top swimmers for six days of elite racing, national team selections, and milestone performances. The Trials served as the selection event for upcoming international competitions, Swim BC athletes demonstrated exceptional strength, technical precision, and competitive drive across all event categories – senior, junior, and para.   Club Representation and Swimmer Participation Swimmers from across the province contributed to a strong BC presence at the competition, with 174 athletes from 27 clubs competing in a total of 759 events.

Please note that the activation process may take up to three (3) weeks due to the process by which clubs pay Swim BC and Swimming Canada invoices through Swim BC. Both organizations then independently mark the invoices as paid in REMS.

Registrant Membership Status Options

Eligibility Requirements for Divisionals and Provincials

To be eligible for Divisionals and Provincials, swimmers must have an ACTIVE status in REMS. This status is achieved when:
  1. Personal Information: The swimmer’s personal information is updated in REMS.
  2. Required Waivers: All required waivers are signed in REMS.
  3. Invoices: All invoices are marked as paid in REMS.
Please note that the activation process may take up to three (3) weeks due to the process by which clubs pay Swim BC and Swimming Canada invoices through Swim BC. Both organizations then independently mark the invoices as paid in REMS. Important: Swimmers must have active status before the entry deadline to be eligible for Divisionals and Provincials. Please plan accordingly to avoid any delay.

Entries submitted without a valid registration number and active status in the REMS at the time of the entry deadline will be denied entry. It is the responsibility of the swimmer’s club to ensure all athletes have an ‘ACTIVE’ registration status in REMS.

British Columbia swimmers have been showcasing their talent and dedication on the global platform in Canberra, Australia. The 2024 Junior Pan Pacs commenced today in Canberra, Australia, with five BC swimmers representing four different BC clubs. Marc Tremblay was selected as a team coach to accompany and guide the Canadian team.
 
Representing Olympians Swimming Club and under the guidance of personal coach Coach Brian Metcalf.
Julia Strojnowksa took silver in the women’s 1,500-m freestyle, taking more than five seconds off her personal best with a time of 16:37.72 and Leilani Fack’s team won silver in the mixed 4×100-m medley relay, combined for a time of 3:49.16.
 
Representing Kelowna Aqua Jets and under the guidance of personal coach Marc Tremblay, Aiden Kirk placed 9th in the 800 freestyle.

The Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships kicks off July 24th in Toronto with a strong BC presence. Among the 929 swimmers from across Canada attending, 161 BC swimmers representing 25 BC swim clubs will see action. Pool events will be held at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre over 6 days, Open Water events will be conducted on July 30that the Welland International Flatwater Centre.

With the Canadian Olympic Team now in Paris in final preparations for their Olympic swims (opening ceremonies are July 26th), the Canadian Swimming Championships present a significant opportunity for the “next generation” to challenge for podium positions and experience winning at the national level.

The top BC clubs attending include:

Olympians Swimming (Langley / Burnaby – 34 swimmers) Island Swim Club Victoria – 18 swimmers) Kelowna AquaJets (Kelowna – 12 swimmers) Canadian Dolphin Swim Club (Vancouver – 11 swimmers) Hyack Swim Club (New Westminster – 11 swimmers) Vancouver Pacific Swim Club (Vancouver – 10 swimmers)
