For the first time ever, SwimBC is looking to extend the Prospects West concept to para-swimming, with the inaugural Para Prospects West camp, scheduled to be held in Richmond, BC, on February 7-9, 2018.
We have identified the ten swimmers shown in the link below for inclusion in the Para-swimming camp we will be holding in Richmond at Watermania on February 7-9, 2018, in Richmond, BC, which will be led by Swimming Canada National Para Head Coach, Vince Mikuska.
Selection was accomplished for swimmers who met the following criteria:
Canada Games age, residency, and citizenship requirements
Not identified as part of Swimming Canada National Team or NextGen programs
Engaged in a training program progressing toward the podium pathway
At least one score above 200 points
Selection was accomplished by ranking swimmers who met the above criteria according to the sum of their four highest-scoring Paralympic events using the most recent points charts, with a cumulative point score from last season of at least 400 points, or with one event over 200 points.
Swimming Canada National Para Head Coach, Vince Mikuska, will be leading the camp, and we hope to have some other guest presenters and specialists at the camp as well.
