2018 TYR Indy Pro Swim Series Results

The sixteen SwimBC athletes who attended the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series event in Indianapolis May 16-19 got off to a solid start with six of them making finals on the first day; the team built on that over the next two days, ending with fourteen of the sixteen qualifying for the opportunity to race at night in finals.

Even with the Indy500 in town, Indianapolis didn't overlook welcoming 700+ swimmers to the city.

Bailey Herbert (LOSC) followed up on her strong first night with three more finals: third in 100Breast and seventh in 200IM “B” finals, as well as a fifth in the 400IM “C” final.  Her teammate, Josie Field, made it through to the “D” final in 200Free with a lifetime PB of 2:04.63; she followed that up on the final night with a sixth-place finish in the 200Fly “B” final in 2:15.89.

Haley Klenk (SPART) continued her strong swimming this season, finishing third in the 200Back “B” final in 2:15.38, while also adding a second-place finish in the “C” final of 100Back in 1:03.31 - both lifetime personal bests.

Chantel Jeffrey (ISC) had her best finish come in the 200Fly, where she placed fourth in the “C” final, while also adding a win in the 400IM “D” final, a fourth in the 200Free “D” final, and a 25th-place finish in 800Free.

Her teammate, Kyla Ross, delivered lifetime bests en route to a third-place finish in the 200Fly “D” final, and a 23rd place finish in 800Free, dropping over eight seconds off her previous best in that event.

James Lebuke (CSSSC) followed up his 200Breast finals on the first night with a third-place finish in the “C” final of 50Free and fourth in the 200 IM “D” final, while Ruishen Yu (SKSC) added a third-place finish in the 100Breast “C” final.

Brodie Young (HYACK) won the 400IM “D” final, Axana Merckx (KAJ) finished second in the 200IM “D” final, as did Joshua Kim (LOSC) in 100 Breast, while Justice Migneault (SKSC) finished seventh in the 200IM “D” final in a lifetime best, and Michael Schmidt (UVPCS) placed sixth in the 100Breast “D” final.
