STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive Director - Ken Radford

  • Reports to the Board of Directors via the President

  • Responsible for the management of all the business and affairs of Swim BC

  • Ensures the policies and resolutions of the Board of Directors are carried into effect

  • Acts as Technical Consultant to the Board and the swimming community

  • Oversees all program planning, design, development and delivery

  • Responsible for human resource management and supervision of Swim BC

  • Designated liaison with the Provincial Government, Sport BC, Swimming Canada and other sport governing bodies

  • Responsible for annual government reporting, evaluation and grant application

  • Financial management

  • Revenue generation

  • Assistance with recreation community in development of swimming facilities

  • Coordination of volunteer activities

  • Club/coach consultant

Senior Manager, Technical Operations - Carrie Matheson

  • Provincial Championships administration and management

  • Provincial Championships technical information development and rules interpretation

  • Para-swimming oversight and management

  • Provincial standards management

  • Officiating management (development, training and registration) and committee liaison

  • NCCP management (promotion, certification inquiries, NCCP certification compliance)

  • Competition and Time Trial sanctioning

  • Management of Swim BC Awards program, criteria review, communications and promotion

  • BC Swimming Hall of Fame management

  • BC Games (Canada Games); BC Senior Games liaison

  • iSPARC liaison

  • Funding programs management

  • Team BC Team Manager recruitment, training and development

Club Services Coordinator - Sam Thoms

  • Oversight of member registration and club operations

  • General club communications

  • Manages insurance inquiries

  • viaSport reporting

  • Safesport coordinator

  • Swim-a-thon management and development

  • Oversight for club accountability and policy

NCCP Coordinator - Chad Webb

  • Schedule, organize and effect delivery of all Swim BC NCCP courses

  • Facilitate or ensure facilitation of Community Coach, Swimming 101, Swimming 201 and Swimming 301 courses

  • Represent Swim BC to the Swimming Canada NCCP planning committees.

  • Manage NCCP communication with membership
