CSC Pacific (Victoria) Speakers Series Update

The Canadian Sports Centre - Pacific, located at the Interurban campus of Camosun College in Victoria, is pleased to announce that the next two free Speakers Series sessions include:

‘The Role of Monitoring Growth in Long Term Athlete Development’ with

Istvan Balyi, a World renowned coaching educator with the National Coaching Institute of BC
Friday, February 5th from 12:30 – 1:30pm

Istvan’s presentation will be invaluable to those who would like to hear from a leading edge sport scientist with a background in creating training plans that are relevant and specialized for your athlete(s) and sport. Istvan is currently LTAD advisor for Sport Canada and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He has authored two books, published over seventy five chapters/articles and delivered over four hundred presentations on LTAD and Planning/Periodization for various sports.

 ‘Lessons in Shared and Strength Based Leadership’ with 

Adam Kreek, two-time Olympian, Gold Medalist and Entrepreneur

Friday, March 5th from 12:30 – 1:30pm

Adam Kreek has become known as an advocate for maximizing human potential and providing service within your community and across borders. He holds a degree in Geotechnical Engineering

and Hydrology from Stanford University, is an Athlete Ambassador for ‘Right to Play’, board member for ‘Clean Air Champions’ and a ‘Play it Cool Athlete Representative’ with the David 
Suzuki Foundation. He believes that teamwork and leadership are synergistic: great leaders value group success over personal achievement.
