SwimBC Swimmers Lead the Way in BigSplash Nominations

Swimming Canada announced its nominees for its "Big Splash" Awards night, slated to be held at the John Bassett Theatre in Toronto on Monday, November 29, 2010, coming on the heels of the Canada Cup meet being held in Toronto over the preceding weekend.

Headlining the nominations are a plethora of SwimBC athletes, with two of them being nominated in more than one category. 

All told, among the eighteen nominations over six different categories, almost a full half - eight in total - are SwimBC members.

Other awards presented will be OMEGA Male and Female Coaches of the Year, Open Water Coach of the Year, Club Coach of the Year, Impact Award, BFL Para-Male and Female Coaches of the Year and the Ted Reynolds Media Award.

Hosted by MuchMusic host Trevor Boris, and featuring Juno-nominated artiest Shawn Desman, the Big Splash gala promises to be a great show.  Other big names such as Canadian artist Jesse Labelle, former NHL Coach Mike Keenan, and former Olympic swimmers such as Anne Ottenbrite, Sandy Goss, Steven Clark, Mike Brown, Joanne Malar, and Alex Baumann will be setting foot on the stage to participate in the festivities.
