BC Swimmers Represent at Canada Cup Toronto

While the west didn't attend the Canada Cup in Toronto (November 25-27) in significant numbers, those few BC swimmers who did attend made an impact.

Mariya Chekanovych (SFA) won both the 50m and 100m Breastroke races, breaking Annamay Pierse's 2007 meet record of 32.39 with a time of 32.22.  She also added a bronze in 200 Breast.

Winning the silver in that 200 Breast race was Kierra Smith (LLSC), who posted a strong early-season 2:28.49.

Andrew Poznikoff (SFA) won a pair of silvers, his coming in 50 and 200 Breast, while also adding a bronze in the 100.

Katie Caldwell (PSW) was the other BC medalist, coming away with a bronze in 400 IM.  At the meet, she was also presented with one of the Victor Davis Memorial Bursaries.
