New Open Water Age Restrictions from SNC

Swimming Canada today announced new age restrictions on open water swimming races.

The new rules, which take effect immediately, put the minimum age for competing in any distance of open water race at 12 years, as of the day of the race, with a maximum distance for swimmers aged 12 and 13 being 2.0km.

As a result of this, SwimBC has now posted a REVISION to the meet information package that had been posted for the BC Open Water Championships; that race is scheduled to be held at Thetis Lake on the morning of Monday, July 11, 2012.
