Day 4 at 2011 Summer Nationals

The last night at the George Gate Aquatic Center in Pointe Claire saw Jordan Hartney win his second gold medal of the meet in the men’s 200 IM in a time of 2:03.04. Eric Hedlin, IS, won the 1500 Freestyle in a time of 15:26.14. Alec Page, IS, took the silver in 15:31.70. Sherry Liu, HYACK, had a great second half to win the silver medal in the 800 Freestyle, posting an 8:51.85. Katie Caldwell, PSW, won the bronze in a time of 8:53.81.

Melanie Dodds, LOSC, was the bronze medalist in the 200 IM in a time of 2:17.10. Hanna Pierse, UBCD, also took bronze in the 200 Breaststroke in 2:30.08.

The UBCD women’s team of Lauren Lavigna, Haylee Johnson, Noemie Thomas, and Heather MacLean finished the night winning gold in the 400 Medley Relay.

UBCD won the over-all team title and were also the women’s champion. Island Swimming won the men’s title and were third over-all.

Nations Cup

The Nations Cup meet will be swum Monday and Tuesday. The meet will feature teams from France, Denmark, Brazil and Canada. BC swimmers representing Canada will be:
