Day 1 at Age Group Champs

The Cartier Bridge is closed here in Montreal tonight for the fireworks but they actually started a little earlier in the pool. BC swimmers won a total of 12 Gold medals, 9 Silver and 9 Bronze today. At one point, the girls won 4 straight races, followed by a boys Provincial record and then another win for the boys.

Stephen Calkins of Kamloops Classic Swimming set a new 12&U boys 100 Butterfly record of 1:02.85. He broke the old mark held by Michael Calkins (no relation) of Island Swimming set at 1:03.26 in 1990.
