TAS Renews Support for CSCTA Conference

The Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Associations (CSCTA) announced the renewal of a four-year partnership with Team Aquatic Supplies (TAS) as the title sponsor for the bi-annual National Coaches Conference and will continue to support various CSCTA initiatives.

"We are excited to continue our relationship with Team Aquatic Supplies," said Bill Humby, CSCTA President. "The ongoing support of Team Aquatic Supplies allows the CSCTA to continue organizing exciting events for our membership and keep strengthening the quality of coaching throughout the country."

For Humby, TAS has been instrumental in supporting Canadian swimming over the years.

"We feel that coaches are the backbone of our success in the pool," says Greg Sanderson, General Manager of Team Aquatic Supplies. "It's important for us at TAS to support the coaches and help them continuously move the sport of swimming to higher grounds."

As part of the partnership, Team Aquatic Supplies will also take the lead role in organizing the Trade Show event during the National Conference. This event attracted ten (10) vendors to Whistler in 2010 and there's a great willingness to build on this number for 2012.

Dates and Location for 2012 National Coaches Conference Announced

The CSCTA announced at its 2011 Annual General Meeting that the 2012 Team Aquatic Supplies National Coaches Conference would be held in Toronto at the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel from September 20-23, 2012.

It was also announced that the John Fowlie from the Australian Institute of Sport would be one of the main speakers for the event. Fowlie, a former swimmer from Vancouver, was named the Australian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association Coach of the Year in 2011.

"We're thrilled to have John accept our invitation to share his experience with our coaches," said Chris Hindmarch-Watson, CSCTA Executive Director. "John's path to success at the international level will surely resonate and ignite our young coaches."

"Also, the facilities available to us for the conference will provide a great atmosphere for our members to learn from some of the top Coaches in the world and other experts in their respective fields"

Hosting of the National Conference in 2010 was a very positive experience for the CSCTA as over 150 coaches attend with representation from all 10 provinces.

"We look forward to putting together an event to attract even more of our Members in 2012 and we are working diligently in producing a world-class line-up on guest speakers."

Registration for the 2012 Team Aquatic Supplies National Coaches Conference is expected to begin in March 2012 and additional speakers will be announced as they are confirmed.
