The second night of the 2012 Summer Nationals was a little quiet for BC after a strong opening night. Individually, the highlight of the night was Luke Reilly, VAND winning his first national title with a great last 50 in the men’s 400 IM. David Dimitrov LLSC, was second. Other silver medals went to Kelly Aspinall, VAND in the men’s 100 Freestyle and Kierra Smith LLSC, in the women’s 100 Breaststroke.
The VAND 800 Freestyle 15-17 boys relay team broke the Canadian Age Group record in that event. Luke Reilly, Edward Zhao, Gabe Lee and Justin Chan were 7:41.62 breaking the record held by the Oakville Aquatic Club.
Island Swimming came away with the win in the men’s 800 Freestyle relay. The team was composed of Jeremy Bagshaw, Eric Hedlin, Keegan Zanatta and Stefan Hirniak.
The Vancouver Dolphins women’s team of Brittney Harley, Noemie Thomas, Samantha Corea and Lauren Lavigna took the silver medal in the same event.
