The third day of competition here in Edmonton at the Summer Nationals saw Jake Tapp, LOSC and Noemie Thomas, VAND returning to the top of the podium for a second time, each winning their respective 100 Butterfly events. Jeremy Bagshaw, Island Swimming was the other BC gold medalist in the men’s 400 Freestyle.
Silver medal winners were; Sherry Liu, Hyack women’s 400 Freestyle, Mackenzie Downing, WGB women’s 100 Butterfly, Allan Coleman, VAND in the men’s 100 Fly and Chelsey Salli, LOSC in the women’s 50 Breaststroke.
Bronze medals went to Lauren Lavigna, VAND in the women’s 200 Backstroke and Andrew Poznikoff, SFA in the men’s 50 Breaststroke.
In the 400 Freestyle relays, the VAND women’s team of Brittney Harley, Noemie Thomas, Samantha Corea and Lauren Lavigna took the gold medal. On the men’s side there was a tie for the gold between VAND and Island Swimming! Kelly Aspinall with a great last 100 to bring VAND back. Joining Aspinall were Sergey Holson, Allan Coleman and Duncan Furrer. The Island quartet were Stefan Hirniak, Jeremy Bagshaw, Keegan Zanatta and Peter Brothers.
