Records Continue to Tumble at 2012 TAS SwimBC LC Champs

The assault on the meet record book continued on the second night of finals at the 2012 Team Aquatic Supplies SwimBC AAA Long Course Championships at the Watermania facility in Richmond.  After an astounding 14 meet records were re-written on Thursday night, another 16 were broken on Friday night.  Two of those also resulted in new SwimBC records, both coming in the girls' 4x200m Free Relay events.

  • 12&U Girls:  Ravensong Aquatic Club (9:34.86) - Haley Bennett, Megan Romkes, Ayden Jager, and Joanna Redenbach
  • 14&U Girls:  Vancouver Pacific Swim Club (8:52.17) - Heather Lam, Helen Garabandic, Micah Gay, Nina Takahashi

Meanwhile, Hyack continued to lead in the overall team standings, maintaining a narrow 58-point lead (1144.5 to 1086) over second place Pacific Sea Wolves.  Those two clubs have separated themselves to a certain extent from the rest of the Top 6, with Island Swimming (1000.50), Vancouver Pacific Swim Club (951), the host Richmond Rapids (892.50), and Chena (867.50) bunched closely together.
