British Columbia’s veteran distance swimmers led the way on the third night of competition at the 2013 World Championship Trials. Savannah King, UNBD/VNSC used her characteristic strong finish to win the women’s 400 Freestyle. Ryan Cochrane, IS was close to his national record in winning the men’s 400 Freestyle.
Next up Noemie Thomas UBCD/VNSC made her first senior national team taking the silver medal in the women’s 100 Butterfly. Not to be outdone her UBC/VNSC teammate Coleman Allen won the men’s 100 Butterfly and made his first national team. Hillary Caldwell, PSW responded by winning the women’s 200 Backstroke just over the national record.
In the women’s 50 Breaststroke Tera Van Beilen UBCD/VNSC stroked to the silver medal just ahead of Chelsey Salli, LOSC who claimed the bronze.
