While the quest for the overall team scoring title at the 2014 SwimBC AAA Short Course Championships may have been in doubt after the first day, the end result became more clear on the second day and was pretty much a forgone conclusion heading into the final day of competition.
Richmond Rapids capped their record-breaking weekend with their first-ever team title at SwimBC AAA Champs, doing so with probably the largest margin of victory in recent years, having over 600 points separating themselves from second-place Vancouver Pacific Swim Club. Contrast that to the last two iterations of this meet, where the overall team title was decided literally in the final event of the meet.
Despite this meet being a full month earlier this year, there were still plenty of records broken, including one more provincial record on Monday, as Paul Zou (WDSC) broke his existing 13-14 Boys 400 Free record with a time of 4:00.74.
Meet records on the final day of the meet came from the following:
- Alexandra Turvey (VPSC): 11&U Girls 50 Free, 200 Free
- Tai Long Singh (WDSC): 12-13 Boys 50 Free, 100 Fly
- Wendy Yang (HYACK): 14-15 Girls 50 Free
- Tim Zeng (CHENA): 16-18 Boys 50 Free
- Michael Schmidt (UVPCS): 11&U Boys 200 Breast
- Harry Duan (WSC): 14-15 Boys 200 Breast
