Swimming Canada today announced the selection process for its NextGen camps which will take place in the 2018-2019 season. The NextGen program is designed to assist age-targeted swimmers to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, as a step on the progression toward being on the podium at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Up to sixteen swimmers will be selected to two separate camps, with eight swimmers per camp, based on application and a ranking system based on the WPS (World Para Swimming) points chart; the camps are tentatively scheduled for the latter half of October, 2018, in Toronto.
There is also the opportunity for coaches with a minimum NCCP status of Level 1 "In Training" to apply to be a part of either of these camps as well.
