The Swim BC Board of Directors has recently passed two new polices, both of which directly impact Swim BC clubs. These policies are summarized below, they can be download from the Policies page.
Club Policy - The intent of this policy is to begin to provide clear structure and rules regarding the operations of our Class “A” members. This policy replaces the New Club Affiliation Policy, and puts more definition around how clubs operate, how they maintain their status with Swim BC, and begins to determine baseline information for the areas of operation our current members service.
Club administration and Head Coaches, please complete the “Club Facility Declaration Form” at your earliest convenience and return to Swim BC (Attention: Samantha Thoms, Club Services Coordinator – firstname.lastname@example.org). This ‘declaration’ will provide Swim BC with a clear understanding of your operations, and enable us to assess new club applications, and where where facility usage may require conflict resolution.
High Performance Centre Policy – This policy provides a clean definition of the HPC’s in BC. In doing so the policy addresses the ‘playing field’ or competitiveness of BC swimming, Championship meets in particular, as well as other competitions. It takes steps to ensure that the club system in BC inspires fair competition; the opportunity for all clubs to envision competing for Provincial club titles, relay titles, records, etc. It also provides the HPC’s in BC, should they choose, the opportunity to identify as HPC’s and further promote their brand and identity to future swimmers.
