Swim BC is pleased to welcome Gareth Bowley to the Board of Directors.
Gareth Bowley has been involved in sport throughout his life as an athlete, volunteer, administrator and professional. His career has included leadership roles at UBC Athletics and Recreation and AFL Ontario, as well as operational roles with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, London 2012 Olympic Games and Toronto 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
A lifelong athlete, Gareth represented Canada in Australian Rules Football and now spends much of his spare time competing in long-distance triathlon, with five Ironman finishes to his name. Despite being a long-distance triathlete, Gareth admits that the swim leg is still his strongest discipline.
Gareth looks forward to bringing his passion for sport, leadership experience and athlete perspective to the Swim BC Board.
