2026 BC Summer Games – Recap
July 30, 2026
The 2026 BC Summer Games, held July 22–26, 2026, in Kelowna, BC, brought together 173 swimmers from 8 zones across British Columbia for an exciting celebration of racing, teamwork, and personal achievement. Supported by 23 dedicated coaches, athletes proudly represented their regions while gaining valuable experience competing in a provincial multi-sport Games environment.
Throughout the competition, swimmers competed in 911 races, achieving 486 personal best performances. These results are a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the athletes, as well as the dedication of their coaches, clubs, and families who support them throughout the season.
For many swimmers, the BC Summer Games marked their first opportunity to represent their zone at a provincial multi-sport event. Beyond the racing, athletes built new friendships, learned from one another, and experienced the excitement of competing as part of a larger team – an important milestone in their long-term development within the sport.
The success of the swimming competition was made possible by the incredible efforts of our officials, volunteers, and event leadership. Thank you to the Meet Manager Tina Pomponio, Meet Referee Tara Walters, and Officials Coordinator Kristie Bjorgan for their leadership and commitment to delivering a high-quality competition. We also thank the many officials, volunteers, coaches, and support staff whose dedication ensured a safe, fair, and memorable experience for every participant.
Congratulations to all of the athletes who competed at the 2026 BC Summer Games. We look forward to watching these young swimmers continue to grow and excel in the years ahead.
