Club Development Series
The Club Development Series is designed to empower Swim BC member clubs by providing meaningful opportunities to strengthen leadership, build resilience, and support long-term success.
Aligned with our strategic direction of Inspiring Leaders, we know we are successful when clubs have access to tools and resources that inspire leadership, and when these are actively integrated into the delivery of programs and services. This series supports our commitment to continuously improve the Swim BC Club Excellence Program, promote good governance, and enhance club board leadership across the province.
Who Should Attend
This series is intended for Club Delegates (Club Presidents and members of the Board of Directors) from across the province of BC, who play a key role in shaping the direction and impact of their clubs.

A lifelong athlete, she believes that organized sport fosters skills and values that last a lifetime. She is proud to serve as a named expert with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s True Sport Program and as the Safe Sport Safeguarding Liaison with viaSport British Columbia.
Amelia Strother
AS Consulting
Communication is the foundation of effective leadership—whether on the pool deck, in the boardroom, or within the broader club community. In this session, Amelia Strother will explore how clear, intentional communication fosters strong working relationships and a high-performing culture among coaches, club leadership, athletes, and parents. With over 12 years of global experience, she has taught and facilitated across diverse cultures and industries. Her work includes training Olympic and Paralympic coaches in Canada, leading storytelling workshops in Singapore, and developing leadership programs for the world’s most successful company—among many other impactful engagements. Participants will gain practical strategies to better adapt their communication to different audiences, create clarity in their messaging, and inspire action across all levels of a swim organization. This session is designed to equip both coaches and club leaders with the tools needed to build trust, drive alignment, and elevate the overall success of their programs
