Brent Arckey
Head Coach & CEO, Sarasota Sharks
Primary coach to Summer McIntosh, Brent brings nearly 20 years of experience with the Sarasota Sharks and a legacy of coaching success at the highest levels.
Coach Arckey has guided athletes to over 16 international medals, including six Olympic podium finishes. For more than a decade, he has consistently developed swimmers for both the National Junior and National Teams. With over 15 years at the Sarasota Sharks, Arckey has coached nearly every age group and played a key role in the club’s rise to national prominence.
Since becoming Head Coach in 2014, Arckey has led the Sharks through major organizational growth, transforming them into an elite, independently operated swim club.
A career highlight includes coaching Emma Weyant to a silver medal in the 400-meter Individual Medley at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. More recently, Arckey has played a pivotal role in the rise of Summer McIntosh, a world-record holder and multi-time world and Olympic champion:

Coach Arckey’s commitment to excellence and athlete development has fostered a supportive, high-performance environment at the Sarasota Sharks.
Abi Liu
Former World Champion Swimmer | World Championship Coach, Team USA | Head Coach, Bellevue Club
With a dual background as an elite swimmer and coach, Abi offers valuable insights into athlete development and high-performance training environments. Abi Liu brings over two decades of international swimming excellence. As a former national record holder and member of the Chinese National Team, Abi was a standout backstroker who won the 1993 FINA World Cup and earned silver at the 1994 Asian Games. Her deep understanding of high-performance sport stems not only from her time as an elite athlete but from a coaching career marked by innovation and results. Her athletes have become Olympic Trial and National qualifiers, USA Swimming Age Group record holders, and champions at every major junior level. She has served on coaching staffs for Team USA at both the World Junior and World Championships, the North American Challenge Cup, and USA Swimming’s Diversity Camp. In addition to her coaching achievements, Abi is a successful entrepreneur—founding and growing two of the Bay Area’s largest swim schools, now serving over 3,200 students.
Wayne Goldsmith
Managing Director, Moregold Performance Consulting
With over 30 years of international experience in high-performance sport, Wayne has served as a strategic advisor to some of the world’s most respected organizations, including USA Swimming, Swimming Australia, British Swimming, Rugby Australia, New Zealand Rugby Union, Tennis Australia, and numerous AFL, NRL, and Super Rugby teams. Wayne is recognized globally for his ability to lead cultural transformation in sports organizations through evidence-based strategies and practical leadership frameworks. In this keynote, he will share proven approaches for cultivating high-performance environments that are sustainable, values-driven, and attractive to talent at every level.
Brian Metcalfe
Veteran BC Coach & Multi-Award Winner
Brian has been a full-time coach in British Columbia for over 40 years, leading programs such as the Victoria Olympians, Pacific Sea Wolves, and Langley Olympians. He is one of a handful of NCCP Level 4 certified coaches in Canada and is a two-time “Rubber Boot” award winner, signifying BC Swim Coach of the Year as voted on by his coaching peers. Brian has coached Olympic team member Jake Tapp, Senior National Champions, National Age Group record holders, and numerous Provincial and National Team athletes.
Tom Vandenbogaerde, PhD
Performance Scientist Coach | Canadian Sport Institute Pacific
Tom Vandenbogaerde is a highly experienced and organized performance scientist with over 18 years of expertise in elite sport. Currently serving as a Performance Scientist Coach at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, Tom brings a deep, holistic understanding of high-performance preparation and has dedicated his career to helping athletes and teams “Win Well” on the world stage.
Tom has held senior roles across some of the world’s leading high-performance systems, including Swimming Australia, the Australian Institute of Sport, and High Performance Sport New Zealand. His roles have spanned practitioner and leadership capacities, with a strong track record of contributing to multi-disciplinary teams and fostering collaboration among coaches, practitioners, and sport managers at both national and international levels.
His academic foundation includes a PhD in Performance Modeling, Swimming, and Physiology from Auckland University of Technology, where his research—under the supervision of Professor Will Hopkins—focused on the effects of acute nutritional interventions in elite athletes. He also holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education from Ghent University.
Tom is known for his evidence-based approach, innovation in athlete monitoring, and commitment to sustainable success in high-performance sport.

Want to deepen your stroke knowledge? Stroke School delivers high-level technical insight from elite swim coaches. This popular ‘Swim School’ session is designed especially for coaches working with entry-level swimmers of any age, where strong foundations matter most.
Too often, the newest coaches are tasked with teaching the most critical stage in a swimmer’s journey. Stroke School equips you with the skills to do it right—from body position and kick timing to propulsion phases and stroke integration.
Learn proven drills, teaching strategies, and correction methods directly from some of the best coaches in BC. You’ll leave with a stronger stroke toolbox—and a renewed confidence in your coaching.
Open to both members and non-members of Swim BC, this session welcomes anyone eager to elevate their technical coaching skills.

Speaker Bios
Marc Tremblay
Head Coach – Kelowna AquaJets (KAJ)
Marc Tremblay brings over 35 years of professional swim coaching experience, supported by a Master’s degree in Sport Science and NCCP Level IV certification – the highest level of coaching certification in Canada. Currently in his third season with the Kelowna AquaJets, Tremblay was named Swimming Canada’s 2023 Junior Coach of the Year, recognizing his transformative impact on young swimmers in the Central Okanagan. He also received BC Swim Coaches Association’s Junior National and National Coach of the Year honours and was selected by Swimming Canada to coach at the Junior National Training Camp. Previously coaching in Alberta, Tremblay is known for embracing a safe, inclusive, and high-performance environment.
Andrew Lennstrom
Head Coach & Director of Swimming – Hyack Swim Club
Entering his 23rd season with Hyack, Andrew “Lenny” Lennstrom has been a cornerstone of the club since 1999. A former swimmer with the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts and Simon Fraser University, he transitioned to coaching after graduation. As Assistant Head Coach since 2001, Lennstrom has led athletes to hundreds of provincial medals, multiple national titles, 60+ provincial records, and 22 national age group records. He was selected as a coach for Team BC at the 2022 Canada Games and named BC Male Coach of the Year for 2021–2022. Lenny is focused on guiding athletes to national and international success.
Leanne Sirup
Head Coach & Director of Operations – Duncan Stingrays (DST)
Leanne Sirup is in her 18th season as Head Coach of the Stingrays and holds the Advanced Coaching Diploma (NCCP L4) through the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario. She is a Swim BC Learning Facilitator for NCCP Community Sport Coach, Fundamentals, and Age Group streams. Leanne also serves as Head Coach of Team BC: Indigenous Sport since 2004 and as a Lead Advisor for Orange Cap Day, advocating for inclusive and culturally meaningful sport development.
Lucien Zucchi
Director of Swimming & Head Coach – Island Swimming Club
Lucien Zucchi joined Island Swimming in 2022, bringing 13 years of coaching experience in Canada after immigrating from France. His past roles include coaching with Red Deer Catalina, University of Regina, and Vancouver Pacific Swim Club. A member of the Swimming Canada Select Coaches Group, Zucchi has developed national and international medalists. His coaching philosophy blends traditional values of work ethic and commitment with a focus on team culture and growth mindset.
Chad Webb
NCCP Coordinator – Swim BC
Chad Webb is responsible for coordinating all NCCP coaching courses in British Columbia. He oversees delivery and facilitation of Community Coach through to Swimming 301 certifications, represents Swim BC on Swimming Canada NCCP planning committees, and manages communication on NCCP matters with Swim BC membership.
Alex Pettifer
Lead Coach – AGD 3, Youth 2 & AGD Program, Richmond Rapids
Alex Pettifer has coached with the Richmond Rapids for over 15 years, contributing at every level of the club. She brings a technique-focused philosophy and is an NCCP Level 2 certified coach. Her leadership in AGD and PAG programs supports the club’s long-term athlete development strategy.
