CHALLENGE SET #6 (JUNE 14 – 20)

Swim BC is pleased to be announcing Challenge Set #6 – the final challenge. 

We are pleased to have been able to work in partnership with Team Aquatic Supplies and RaceTek to offer awards totalling over $ 15,000 to the cumulative top point earners in each of the categories at the conclusion of the program. Award earners will be announced on Friday, June 25th. Next week’s challenge sets are: 

Challenge Set #6 – Able Body 

Push Start 6 X 100 Swim on 2:30 (2 Fly, 2 Back, 2 Breast) 

Must be swum in the order Fly, Fly, Back, Back, Breast, Breast 

Challenge Set #6 – Para 

Push Start 1 X 150 IM Swim  SM1 – 16:00 / SM2 – 14:00 

Push Start 2 X 150 IM Swim SM3 – 9:00 / SM4 – 7:30 

Push Start 2 X 200 IM Swim  SM5 – 9:00 / SM6, SM7 – 7:30 

Push Start 3 X 200 IM Swim  SM8, SM11, SM12 – 6:30 / SB9, SM10, SM13, SM14 – 6:00

Swim BC is pleased to be announcing Challenge Set #5 in partnership with Team Aquatic Supplies and RaceTek. Awards totalling over $ 15,000 will be presented to the cumulative top point earners in each of the categories at the conclusion of the 12-week (6 set) program.

All Able-Bodied             8 X 50 Choice Kick (One Stroke) with Board on 1:30
Para (SB1 – SB3)         4 X 50 Breast Swim – Push Start
                                                  (Classification Specific Intervals Below)
Para (SB4 – SB14)        4 X 100 Breast Swim – Push Start
                                                  (Classification Specific Intervals Below)
Please note

  • Kick with a board, with the exception of backstroke kick which is done streamlined.
  • No stroking to the wall.
  • The type of kick must be recorded. Choice includes Dolphin on Front with Board, Breast on Front with Board, Free on Front with Board, Back Streamlined.
  • Each swim must be recorded. Swimmers may be required to assist by recording on Sintra Plastic, Waterproof Paper, or Laminated Sheets.

Para Intervals

  • 4 X 50 Breast Swim        SB1 – 5:00 / SB2 – 3:00 / SB3 2:40
  • 4 X 100 Breast Swim      SB4 – 5:00 / SB5 – 4:20 / SB6 – 4:00 / SB7 – 3:50 /SB8, SB9, SB11, SB12, SB13, SB14 – 3:30

CHALLENGE SET #3 RESULTS NOW AVAILABLE!

Challenge Set #3 has wrapped up and the results are now available! We have half way done the Challenge Set Initiative, which means it’s time to award the interim awards. The top 3 performances in each age group category and the top 1 for varsity & para will receive $50 gift certificates from both Team Aquatic Supplies and Racetek. We are only half done, so keep up the hard work as there are more awards to win.

MASTERS SWIMMING FINA TOP 10 FOR 2020

FINA has released their rankings for the Top 10 Masters performances from 2020. More than 30 BC Masters Swimmers made the Top 10 Rankings for 2020. They will each receive a letter of congratulations from Swimming Canada and a crest from FINA. Big congratulations from Swim BC on this tremendous achievement and we can’t wait to see Masters back in the water soon.
