
Jacob Brayshaw Breaks National Para Records
Jacob Brayshaw of the KISU Swim Club shaved over 11 seconds off his own record by finishing the S2 50-metre freestyle in 1:49.37 seconds during the morning preliminaries. He swam the final in 1:51.71. It was the fifth record of the meet for the 20-year-old Vernon resident, who lives with muscular dystrophy. He also set new standards in the 50 and 100-m backstroke S2 and 100 and 200-m freestyle S2. Brayshaw also had a top time of 1:55.61 in the 50-m breaststroke SB2. Congrats Jacob!! Last weekend, a new National Record was set at the Fraser & Island Divisonals. Laon Kim of Hyack Swim Club broke the short course 13-14 200m Individual Medley record. This is also a provincial record and Laon’s 6th provincial record this season. Congratulations Laon! This is a huge accomplishment.View this post on Instagram

New Provincial & National Records!
BC swimmers had a busy weekend for records! Four relay records were broken, three of which are also National records! Congrats to the Pacific Seawolves relay team made up of Matthew Cao, Max Wu, Borui Zhang & Neil Zhou. They broke the provincial and national records for the 11-12 Men SCM 4x50m Freestyle Relay (1:47.66), 4x100m Freestyle Relay (3:57.01) and 4x200m Freestyle Relay (8:33.72). This is a huge accomplishment for these athletes and can’t wait to see what you do next. At Western Canadian Championships, Katelyn Schroeder, Macey Larson, Madisen Jacques & Leilani Fack from Langley Olympians broke the provincial record in the 15-17 Women LCM 4x100m Medley with a time of 4:15.03. Congrats swimmers!
