IPC Swimming Technical Official Course - Gatineau, QC

To all Para-Swimming Officials, IPC Trainees and IPC certified Officials

Be advised that an IPC Swimming Technical Official (TO) course will be held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on July 13 and 14, 2016 prior to the CAN-AM Para-Swimming Championships which is held from July 15 to 17, 2016.

In order to apply on the IPC Swimming TO course, you need to be at least a level IV official in Canada with deck referee experience, had worked at a National meet, per example Eastern or Western Championships, Age Group National, CAN-AM Championships (doesn't matter the assigned position at any of these meets) AND had attended the Swimming Canada Para-Swimming Officials 1 day clinic.  In addition, IPC is now requesting the certificate of completion for the IPC Introduction to Para-Sports (on-line course free of charge) and for the IPC Swimming Technical Officials Online Programme as a prerequisite.  These online courses are found at: http://www.ipc-academy.org/?academy=1&area=online
and then scroll down to the bottom of the page to access these courses.  Note that there is a cost of 53.50 euros€ (around $80 cdn) for the IPC Swimming Technical Officials Online Programme while the other one (Introduction) is free of charge.  Both on-line courses are required.  Note that if you are selected as a participant to the international course, the cost for the on-line course may be reimbursed.

If you are interested to apply on the IPC Swimming ITO course and you meet all the prerequisites indicated above, you need to complete the IPC application form for Gatineau Training which can be found on the IPC website at:

under Related Documents ITO Training Course in Canada.  Note that the application deadline is May 12, 2016.

The application form duly completed with all the appropriate documentation (i.e., copy of your official file which indicate your official level and certificates of completion of the official on-line courses) must be sent to paraofficial@swimming.ca as Swimming Canada needs to endorse your application prior sending it to IPC.

Remember that you will have to pay for your own expenses, i.e., travel, accommodation and meals for the period covering the course and the meet, unless a third party may provide you with funding.  You may want to verify with your your Provincial section, region or club to see if they can fund you.

1) In the Invoice Instructions section, please indicate Swimming Canada under Organisation field, Ottawa, Ontario for the address and paraofficial@swimming.ca in the e-mail field, as Swimming Canada is covering the 50 euros€ application fee for you.
