Canadian Swim Parents Ad-hoc Network

PARENTS OF SWIMMERS AD HOC NETWORK

The C-SPOT (Canadian Swim Parents Organizing Themselves) parent network, with its focus on national and international events with respect to tickets, accommodation, travel and social events is now over a decade old.

It is not affiliated with Swimming Canada or SwimBC (although it has direct contact with various individuals at these organizations), nor is it an formal organization.  Rather, C-SPOT is a network kept together by regular, facilitated e-mails. Many of the group e-mail each other on topics of interest, sometimes to the whole network, sometimes to individuals.

This parent network is open to anyone. The focus is, as noted above, on national and international events in which Canadian swimmers will be participating, and thus, the parents of those swimmers tend to be members of the network.

With that said, however, other issues of general interest such as US versus Canadian post secondary schooling, injury rehab (and how parents can support), rules, etc. do occur. More importantly, parents with a great deal of experience in the swimming world are available to answer questions from parents who are less experienced with that world.

If you have questions and/or want to be on the e-mail distribution list, just contact Lawrie Johns here in Vancouver.
