Record Swims Highlight Day3 At TAS BC AAA Champs

One more individual record and another relay record fell to highlight another fast day of swimming at the 2011 Team Aquatic Supplies AAA Age Group Championships.

Haydn Pak (HYACK) broke a long-standing 11-12 boys record in 100 back, as he clocked 1:04.93 to break Jordan Hartney's record which had stood since 2001.

The relay record came from the West Van Otters team of Amy Sun, Elizabeth Willcock, Meghan Brazier, and Charlotte Philpotts, who broke the 15-17 girls 4x50 Free Relay record with a time of 1:45.69.

The top FINA point swims of the meet continued to be Alec Page's (IS) 1500 Free (817 points) and Sherry Liu's (HYACK) 800 Free (806 points) from the first day of competition; however, there were strong challenges to those performances, as Page's teammate, Keegan Zanatta posted a 3:48.65 (805 FINA points) in the 400 Free - a time which ranks as the 22nd-best time ever swum by a Canadian swimmer.

Island Swimming continued to hold a commanding lead in overall team scoring, with Hyack Swim Club a solid second.  After that, though, from third through eleventh place, the scores are tightly bunched.
