The small contingent of swimmers from Prince George Barracudas continued their impressive showing at Speedo Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg on Friday, accounting for five medals, including a three-medal performance from Haley Black, who picked up a win in 15&U girls 50 Fly to go along with a silver in 400 IM and a bronze in 100 Back.
Sterling King and Danica Ludlow each picked up a bronze medal in 50 Free.
Gold-medal performances on the second day of competition included David Dmitrov (LLSC) in Men's 400 IM, and then a clean sweep of the 200 Breastroke races: Eva Nagy (VAND) in 15&U girls, Kierra Smith (LLSC) in women's open, James Dergousoff (CHENA) in 16&U boys, and Sean Nugent (SFA) in men's 200 Breast.
The other multi-medalist on the night for BC was Nicolaas Dekker (RAPID) who won a silver (100 Back) and bronze (50 Fly).
Other medalists for BC on the second day of competition included Nicolaas Dekker in 16&U 100 Back, Dimitar Ivanov (SFU) and Hans Heyer (SFU) in men's open 100 Back, Emily Overholt (WVOSC) bronze in 15&U girls 50 Fly, Charlotte Philpotts (CHENA) in women's open 50 Fly, Stefan Milosevic (HYACK) silver in 16&U boys 400 IM, Eric Hedlin (IS) in men's 400 IM, Jonathan Kraft (VAND) silver in men's 50 Free, and Sherry Liu (HYACK) in women's 400 IM.
The men's 4x100 Free relays also picked up medals with VAND finishing second and SFU finishing third.
