2013 AAA Champs - Day 1

The 2013 SwimBC SC AAA Championships got off to a record-breaking start on Thursday as almost 700 swimmers converged at Saanich Commonwealth Place in Victora for the focal meet of the season for many of SwimBC's age group swimmers.

VPSC, KCS, and UVPCS are currently engaged in a tight three-way battle for first place in overall team scoring, with fewer than 10 points separating the those top three teams.  UVPCS had the highlight swim of the night, however, as their 14&U girls relay team of Molly Gowans, Jordan Andrusak, Lauren Crisp, and Rachel Sawchuk, broke the SwimBC 13-14 girls record in the 4x100 Free Relay, smashing through the four-minute barrier in 3:58.66.

Emily Overholt (WVOSC) continued her personal assault on the record books in 2013 as she posted the lone meet record of the day in winning the 15yr. girls 800 Free in a time of 8:52.56.

Racing continues Friday-Saturday-Sunday starting at 9:00am prelims session; finals go at 5:00pm on Friday and Saturday.
