SwimBC athletes continued their strong showing at the 2014 Summer Nationals in Saskatoon, SK, as a number of athletes built on their performances from earlier in the meet in making return trips to the podium.
As with Day 1, SwimBC athletes won the first three events, all being repeat winners. Danica Ludlow (IS) led off the evening, (just like on Day 1), with a win in the women's 400 Free, just barely out-touching Savannah King (UBCD) by 1/100th second.
That was followed by Jeremy Bagshaw capturing his third National Championship at the meet, winning the men's 400 Free, which goes along with previous victories in the 100 and 200 Free. His teammate, Keegan Zanatta, took the silver just under two seconds back.
Noemie Thomas (UBCD) then came along to capture her second gold of the meet in the women's 100 Fly, her signature event, and that was followed shortly thereafter by Alec Page (IS) and Nicolaas Dekker (RAPID) taking silver-bronze, respectively, in the men's 100 Fly.
Peter Brothers (IS) took home silver in the men's 200 Back, and then Sergey Holson (UBCD) picked up his second National Championship in the men's 50 Breast, adding to the gold he'd won earlier in the 100.
In the 4x100 Free Relay, which closed out the day, Island Swimming men took home the gold, with UBCD second, not quite a second behind, while the UBCD women's squad picked up a bronze.
