Two days are in the books at the 2014 SwimBC Long Course AAA Championships at Saanich Commonwealth Place in Victoria, and while the days have been long, the swimming has been fast. Over 700 swimmers representing almost all of SwimBC's member clubs, as well as a few from other provinces are in attendance.
The host club, UVic-Pacific Coast Swimming, holds the lead in team scoring, with 1490.5 points, with Richmond Rapids (1036) and Island Swimming (1007) in a tight battle for second. Vancouver Pacific (823) and Hyack (787) round out the top five.
This is proving to be one of the more competitive iterations of this meet, as it is the first time where, half-way through the meet, not one swimmer who's swum more than once is un-defeated. Typically, there are at least a couple of age groups where one swimmer runs the table, but with most swimmers already having swum 3-4 races, each age group has had a variety of swimmers take the top step on the podium.
